Louis Riel was a Métis Hero. Riel fought for First Nations rights, greater religious freedoms, and greater gender equality. He was a Canadian politician, founder of the province of Manitoba, and a political leader of the Métis (indigenious of Northwest Canada, US, and French European) people.
